WHAT IS BIOIDENTICAL HORMONE THERAPY (BHRT)?

Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) is the use of hormones that are identical on a molecular level and act in body just as the hormones that we naturally produce. BHRT can come in oral, topical and pellet forms. BHRT using pellets has many advantages over other hormone modalities – most notably, the consistent administration offered by the BioTE method approach to hormone replacement therapy. This prevents the roller coaster like effects patients often experience with other forms of BHRT.

As the body ages, it undergoes various hormonal changes that can affect your health as well as lead to disease. Some of the common symptoms of hormonal imbalance include weight gain, memory decline, fatigue, and muscle loss.

The mental benefits of undergoing hormone therapy are numerous, as studies have shown that BHRT use among postmenopausal women has beneficial effects on cognitive function among other areas of brain functionality. Low levels of testosterone in men or estrogen in women can lead to lower mental capacity, depression and brain fog, but the pioneering BHRT from BioTE® can help relieve these symptoms and return you to your full mental capacity. As you age, it can be frustrating to deal with the loss of some of your cognitive function, but restoring your hormone balance through BHRT can help you avoid those cognitive losses and maintain a sharp mind.

But just because you age, doesn’t mean you have to feel bad. Using bioidentical hormones will help restore your hormones to their optimal levels and relieve your symptoms, allowing you to return to a normal, healthy life. The physical benefits of BHRT are numerous. So what are you waiting for? If you are suffering from symptoms of hormone imbalance we can help at Precision Medicine and Wellness by Elizabeth Bagan, APRN. We are happy to arrange a consultation and discuss and concerns that you may have.
